Welcome to Ross Reflexology in High Wycombe and Princes Risborough; Reflexology for health, relaxation and renewal
Previous careers in dance and early childhood education, sparked my interest in the human body, it’s functioning and how important it is to approach health holistically.
Reflexology has changed my entire view of the mind, body and spirit connection. It has shifted my family’s focus on health, and I hope it does the same for every client that I meet.
I studied Therapeutic Reflexology, under the guidance of Inge Dougans at The International Academy of Reflexology and Meridian Therapy, in South Africa. I graduated cum laude in 2010 with a Diploma in Foot Reflexology, 5 Elements Theory, Meridian therapy, Anatomy & Physiology, and Pathology. I have added Facial Reflexology to my skills, having done a course with the award winning Ziggie Bergman, at the London School of Reflexology. I am fully insured and registered as a Full Member with the Association of Reflexologists, UK.
I enjoy working with all ages from babies to the elderly. I have a special interest in stress and associated conditions. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to enter into this amazing healing modality. My private practice is in Princes Risborough, as well as High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and I look forward to touching the lives of many.
Reflexology is a complementary therapy which is based on the theory that different points on the feet, hands, face or ears correspond to different areas of the body. Reflexologists use specific pressure techniques on these reflex points which brings a feeling of relaxation. Therapists also provide a listening ear and offer support to clients if needed.
I believe stress is a very common condition, that is overlooked and labelled as a normal part of modern life.
Stress triggers a Sympathetic Nervous response (fight or flight). Prolonged ‘fight or flight’ results in an over production of Cortisol in the body, and this has a chaotic effect = digestive issues, sleep problems, depression/anxiety, lowered immune system, hormonal imbalance, infertility, etc, etc! Reflexology induces deep relaxation, bringing the body back into a Para-sympathetic Nervous response (rest and digest). In this state of ‘rest and digest’ the body can heal any damage caused during ‘fight or flight’.
Another special interest is every stage of womanhood. During puberty and menopause, reflexology can assist the body during this transitional period. Reflexology supports the body in preparation for pregnancy, as it helps maintain homeostasis (internal balance), which is vital for conception. Reflexology plays a supportive role with common discomforts that come with pregnancy, such as aches and pains, circulation, digestion, swollen ankles, and sleep. With it's calming effect, reflexology can be a wonderful modality during labour. Post pregnancy is often when the new mother neglects her own needs, but this is a vital time for support during breast feeding, and helping the body return to it’s pre-pregnancy state.
With a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, as well as being a mother of two children, I love working with young people, as their bodies respond very efficiently to treatment.
I have had the pleasure of working on babies as young as 6 weeks old, suffering from colic; young siblings needing some extra TLC as their parents were going through a divorce; ‘busy’ children in need of a calming effect; as well as supporting immune systems during the winter months.
During my studies I did my thesis on the impact of reflexology on teens. I chose this topic as I feel that teenagers go through a stressful time as their body's change, and at the same time, school stress becomes overwhelming!
The results I saw were very rewarding, as these teens felt an improvement in anxiety levels, lowered menstrual discomforts and improved sleep patterns. My greatest observation was, that through the reflexology treatments, the teens starting looking at themselves holistically and started making lifestyle changes!

A few of the more common conditions that can be supported through Reflexology. It is usually safe to have Reflexology alongside conventional medicine, but if you are currently having any medical treatment please speak to your GP before booking an appointment.
Foot Reflexology
Your feet contain over 7000 nerve endings, laid out along various reflex areas. These nerve endings run up the feet, into the spinal cord, and branch out into corresponding organs. Acupressure points are also found on the feet. They are receptors of the body’s meridians / energy pathways, feeding vital organs. These pathways are often congested due to stressors in the body, and result in sluggish functioning of organs. When specific pressure techniques are applied to these areas, physiological changes take place within the body.
Vacuflex Boots
Involves specially designed boots, which are placed on the feet, and a vacuum is created. It applies pressure to all the reflexes of the feet simultaneously. When the vacuum is released, blood is forced into the feet, giving the circulatory system a boost. Another key feature of the Vacuflex Concept is the thermal imaging that is left on the feet for 15-30 seconds after the boots are removed. This is a beneficial visual assessment tool as it can indicate areas of the body that are unbalanced.

Vacuflex Cupping
Rubber suction cups are placed on acupressure points as well as along meridian pathways. This increases blood flow and moves energy, feeding vital organs.

Face Reflexology
Aims to help your entire body function at its optimal level .... with one side effect .... more radiant, firmer and glowing complexion which has very positive emotional benefits. Face reflexology focuses on pressure points on the face and ears, which help stimulate the body's healing mechanisms and help improve circulation and nerve conduction, encouraging the release of toxins from the body via the lymphatic system. Balancing reflex points connect to and help balance the entire body.
